CANOE PROJECT SAILS TO SUCCESS: Halau Lokahi Public Charter School completed a three-year project with the May 19, 2009, launch of a traditional sailing canoe built by students in the school's navigational program. Students held a maile lei in front of their canoe.

CANOE PROJECT SAILS TO SUCCESS: Halau Lokahi Public Charter School completed a three-year project with the May 19, 2009, launch of a traditional sailing canoe built by students in the school's navigational program. The vessel, 20 feet long and weighing almost 1,000 pounds, was carried into the water at Kaiona Beach Park in Waimanalo.
